Pelger-Huet - Child
Pelger-Huët is a (usually) benign inherited abnormality of the nuclear morphology of neutrophilic granulocytes, in which the nuclei are hyposegmented and often have a bilobar or rounded appearance, while the function of the cells remains normal. It is inherited autosomal dominant and is important to recognize in peripheral blood, as it may resemble a left shift in infection.
In this preparation of the heterozygous variant, it is easy to see how segments of eosinophils have a single core segment and ALL neutrophils have only two core segments (pince-nez shape).
