Hypersegmentation
A normal eosinophilic granulocyte has two to three nuclear segments. Hypersegmentation occurs due to a change in the metabolism of the cell, for example, due to activation (parasites, eosinophilia), medication (hydroxyurea) or lack of building materials (vitamin B12, folic acid).
