Thrombocyte
      
        Synonyms: Platelet      
    Thrombocytes can be seen under the microscope as small purple dots. They are the smallest hematological cells in the blood and are 2-3 μm in size. In the second row, aggregates can be seen (abnormal!, added for illustration) where it can be clearly seen that platelets have granulation. These granules contain vasoactive substances that support hemostasis.
